The Center for Molecular Biology (ZMB) was founded in 2007, centralizing all groups of the University of Vienna working in the field of molecular biology. To promote collaborations with the life sciences departments of the Medical University of Vienna, the Max F. Perutz Laboratories (MFPL) were founded in 2005.
The MFPL are headed by former Yale Professor and Dean of both universities, Graham Warren, as Director, and Fabien Martins as Administrative Director. Together with the Vice Dean of the University of Vienna, Manuela Baccarini, and Roland Foisner of the Medical University of Vienna, they form the Directorate of MFPL.
Located at the Campus Vienna Biocenter – the largest life sciences hub in Austria – MFPL is an internationally recognized center for research and teaching.
